This House is Not a Home: Sporting Kansas City 1-1 Philadelphia Union

For the second time this year, Philadelphia comes into Sporting Park and gets a result as the two teams draw 1-1.
Brian Brown answered after Graham Zusi's second half goal to make the final score between Sporting KC and Philadelphia 1-1.
This match pushed Sporting Kansas City's unbeaten streak to eight, but made their home record 4-6-1 heading into the All-Star Break.
Sporting KC's first big opportunity came in the 12th minute when a Toni Dovale corner kick was headed towards goal by Dom Dwyer. The shot would be headed over the bar by a Union defender and out for a corner.
Philadelphia had a great chance in the 41st minute when Vincent Nogueira sent in a curling free kick towards the far post but it was magnificently saved by an outstretched Andy Gruenebaum. The ball went out for a corner and the teams remained scoreless.
Sporting had a golden opportunity in the last minute of the first half when Graham Zusi sent a ball ahead to Mikey Lopez, who was one-on-one with MacMath. His shot, however, was blocked by MacMath and it would be the last Sporting KC chance of the half. Gruenbaum would have to save one more ball before the referee whistled for halftime, but the teams went into the locker room scoreless.
Philadelphia came right out with a chance to start the second half. The Union forced a 2-on-1 counter following a Sporting KC corner with Cruz carrying the ball down the flank. He took his shot far post when he reached the box and it was pushed out of the way by Gruenebaum.
Sporting Kansas City finally broke through in the 53rd minute. Toni Dovale took the ball into the box after a mistimed header and sent a quick ball ahead to Zusi, who finished far post for the score. That was third goal of the year as Sporting KC led 1-0.
Zusi almost doubled Sporting KC's lead within the next 60 seconds. Sporting KC drove down the field where down Dwyer had the ball in the box under double-coverage. He back-heel passed it to Zusi, who took another shot far post but it missed wide by inches.
The Union would pull back an equalizer in the 70th minute. Raymon Gaddis found an unmarked Brian Brown, who headed it past Gruenebaum for his first MLS goal. This was only a few minutes after Brown had come on as a substitute for Conor Casey.
Sporting KC would try to break the bunker after that goal but were unable to force through a goal. They were almost caught on the counter several times but managed to keep the Union out of the net as the match came to a close. Sporting KC settled for a draw 1-1.
Most Sporting KC players will be preparing for next week's match against Vancouver, but the All-Stars -- Graham Zusi, Aurelien Collin and Matt Besler, will head to Portland to represent the MLS in the All-Star game against Bayern Munich.
